Visiting the Elderly: Hospitaller Service at Sta. Maria Josefa Home for the Aged February and March 2026 | Brgy. Maytubig, Malate, Metro Manila
On the first Friday of every month, a dedicated team from the Order of Malta Philippines arrives at the Sta. Ma. Josefa Home for the Aged in Malate, Metro Manila. The visit is not a formality. It is, for many of the residents, one of the highlights of their month.
The program promotes joy and emotional well-being among the elderly through singing, dancing, and games. Birthday celebrants receive cakes generously sponsored by Becky’s Kitchen. Mass is celebrated, attended by residents, nuns, OMP members, staff, volunteers, and guests.
The Hospitaller Visitation program is one of the quieter expressions of the Order’s charism. There are no large events, no public-facing spectacle. There is simply presence, consistent, warm, and deeply human.
