A Meal and a Mass: Kusina sa Sacred Heart February and March 2026 | National Shrine of the Sacred Heart, Makati City
On the fourth Friday of each month, a quiet but meaningful gathering takes place at the National Shrine of the Sacred Heart in Makati City. The Order of Malta Philippines, in partnership with the Shrine under the rectory of Rev. Fr. Roderick Castro, runs Kusina sa Sacred Heart, an integrated feeding initiative that pairs a modest breakfast with catechetical instruction and the celebration of the Holy Mass.
The program is built on a simple conviction: that feeding the body and nourishing the spirit are not separate acts of charity. For the low-income beneficiaries who attend, the morning offers both.
Over February and March 2026, Kusina sa Sacred Heart served beneficiaries. OMP members, committed volunteers, and staff worked together to ensure smooth preparation and distribution, sustaining a program that has quietly become a fixture in the community’s rhythm.
