Feeding the Community, Week After Week: Kusina sa San Lorenzo January, February, and March 2026 | National Shrine of San Lorenzo Ruiz, Manila
Some programs make headlines. Others simply show up, every second and third Friday of the month, without fail, in the heart of Manila.
Kusina sa San Lorenzo is one of them.
Run in collaboration with the National Shrine of San Lorenzo Ruiz under the direction of Rev. Msgr. Esteban U. Lo, LRMS, who also serves as Conventual Chaplain ad honorem of the OMP, the program provides meals to street dwellers and low-income beneficiaries, bringing together OMP members, staff, and volunteers around a shared table.
Each activity begins with the recitation of the Holy Rosary, followed by the celebration of the Eucharist, before the distribution of food packs. It is a model that treats the dignity of the person as inseparable from the meal itself.
From January to March 2026, the program served a total of 1,602 beneficiaries. Any remaining food packs were given to the Missionaries of Charity in Tayuman, ensuring that nothing went to waste and that more people in need continued to receive assistance.
But the commitment does not shift. The program is there every cycle, and so are the people who run it.
