Serving the Poor and Caring for the Sick
Almost 400 patients, mostly children and senior citizens of San Agustin Parish in Moonwalk, Paranaque City, have availed of the free medical services including x-ray and basic laboratory examination conducted by the Order of Malta Philippines and its partner, SM Foundation, San Agustin Parish Church, the Parañaque Medical Association last August 12, 2019 at the ground floor of the SM Mall in Bicutan.
Dedicated to serve the poor and care for the sick, the Order of Malta Philippines, organized the said mission that focuses on serving the indigent residents of San Agustin Parish in Barangay Moonwalk, Parañaque City. A few days prior to the mission, the volunteers of San Agustin Parish Church visited church members who are sick and were provided with health coupons that allow them to avail the above mentioned medical and laboratory services.
Services rendered range from medical and pediatric consultations, radiologic examination, ECG and blood level determination of cholesterol, sugar and uric acid. The recipients also received prescription medicines and essential laboratory services for free.
The Order of Malta Philippines has been partnering with the SM Foundation since 2016 to render medical, dental and other health services. To date, thousands of beneficiaries have availed of these charitable and similar social outreach programs of the organization.
