Parañaque Fire Relief Operation
Fire of undetermined origin razed 60 houses in Airport Village, Parañaque City on the night of June 28, 2015 leaving at least 150 families homeless. The fire lasted for more than four hours and was contained at past 1 a.m. No one was reported injured in the fire but many families were displaced.
Rev. Fr. Nicholas Dhelle Ma. Solis, OFMConv., Parish Priest of San Agustin Parish – a beneficiary of the Order of Malta Philippines – reached out to the Order to put together a Parañaque Fire relief operation on July 3, 2015 to aid the fire victims in Airport Village, Moonwalk, Parañaque City.
The Knights and Dames, true to their calling to help the poor and the sick gave generously to the mission fund. The Order of Malta Philippines prepared hygiene essentials, food items, clothing and undergarments, and flashlights for distribution. The relief goods serviced one hundred fifty (150) families.
The team was headed by Executive Director of the Order of Malta Philippines Cecillia Piñones and Order of Malta Philippines staff, Carmelita Rana.
