2012
The Order of Malta Philippines’ annual Christmas party in Hogar de San Joaquin in Pasay City was held on November 24, 2012. A Eucharistic Mass was celebrated in their chapel officiated by Rev. Fr. Manuel Abogado, Minister of the Ministry of Health Care Services of the Archdiocese of Manila, and was attended by 40 wards who we warmly call lolos and lolas (grandfather and grandmothers). Also in attendance were the nuns from the Congregation of the Servants of Jesus who efficiently manage and run the Hogar de San Joaquin together with members and staff of the Order of Malta Philippines. It was a wonderful celebration, especially for us to be able to celebrate the 97th birthday of Lola Celia on this day!
2007
On November 24, 2007, a traditional early Christmas was celebrated with the senior residents of Hogar San Joaquin. The celebration started with a Thanksgiving Mass conducted in Spanish by Fr. Jaime Bautista, Hospital Chaplain of the San Juan de Dios Hospital. Christmas carols and a Spanish dance performance by Doña Teresita Liboro, a members of the Order of Malta Philippines, entertained all guests during lunch after the mass.
