After a year of preparations, Doña Alice Tesoro-Guerrero, Doña Josefina Padilla-Rufino, and Doña Odelia Gregorio-Arroyo, were invested as Dames of Magistral Grace in the Sovereign Military Order of Malta on December 9, 2005 at the Santuario de San Antonio, Makati. The Archbishop of Manila, His Eminence Gaudencio Cardinal Rosales, Grand Cross Conventual Chaplain ad honorem celebrated the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass together with Bishop Raul Martires, Fr. Genaro Diwa, Magistral Chaplain, Fr. Antonio Rosales, Parish Priest of Santuario de San Antonio, Fr. Wilfredo Benito, Fr. Augustine Cuenca, Fr. Rico Garcia, and Fr. Boyd Sulpico.
Don Ernesto B. Rufino, Grand Cross of Magistral Grace, president of the Sovereign Military Oder of Malta, Philippines as duly-designated representative of the Grand Master, Fra’ Andrew Bertie bestowed on Alice Tesoro-Guerrero, Josefina Padilla-Rufino, and Odelia Gregorio-Arroyo, the Cross of the Order and the Vestment of the Order. The three newly invested members recited their vows of commitment to the Order, with their sponsors beside them as witnesses together with the Knights and Dames in attendance and relatives and guests of the three Dames.
A response was given by Doña Odelia G. Arroyo, who reiterated their desire to be servants to the Lord in their service to the poor and the sick, and thanked the members and staff of the Order for their prayers and support during their preparatory year. A simple lunch followed the ceremony.
