Through the efforts of the Order of Malta Philippines and AmeriCares, the need for relief and medical support for the victims of Typhoon Ruby in Sorsogon was attended to. A relief mission took place in the Holy Infant Jesus Parish in Matnog, Sorsogon wherein medical consultation for beneficiaries who needed health assistance was conducted and medicines were immediately provided for hundreds of recipients who came from the Dioceses of Sorsogon, Catarman, Borongan and Cal-bayog.

On the other hand, last August 2014, a Disaster Emergency Relief As-sistance activity was initiated again by the Order of Malta Philippines with AmeriCares’ donations in partnership with Sto. Nino Parish of the Archdiocese of Cebu and the Municipality of Sta. Fe in Bantayan Island for the victims of Typhoon Glenda.

Medicines, medical supplies and hygiene products were also given out to more than 500 affected individuals in Kinatarcan Island in Cebu. Families were temporarily transferred from their places to evacuation sites due to the occurrence of sink-hole found in their place.

AmeriCares also extended its support during the distribution of food supplements, medicines and medical supplies and hygiene goods in an emergency relief activity conducted by the Order of Malta Philippines in Laguna, Quezon, Naga and Iriga on August 2014, for the victims of Typhoon Glenda.
